This fine two-owner example of a Bavaria 34 from 2000 with both furling mainsail and headsail was designed by J&J and built by Bavaria Yachtbau. Bavaria has been making ships since 1978 and after a test of this model in 2016 by Duncan Kent, Chris Beeson wrote in the magazine "Yachting Monthly", among other things, the following:
"She is an ideal starter boat for a young family, as well as an easy-to-handle cruiser for a mature couple often cruising alone. She is well behaved, predictable and undramatic under sail, neither does she require a gorilla to control her sails or steering.
She's also quite pretty, looks woody and well built below, has (or can be fitted with) most mod cons and is easily maintained.
If you're mainly a coastal cruiser with the occasional Channel crossing and nights at anchor, then the 34 should fit the bill perfectly. Furthermore, they're excellent value for money..."
"Hera" has been continuously maintained inside and out. The sail wardrobe is from Elvstrøm and has a furling forestay and furling mast for the mainsail and Harken winch. The teak cockpit is spacious around the cockpit table and a cockpit tent can be fitted in addition to the sprayhood (2018). Aft is the bathing platform with bathing ladder and shower with hot/cold pressurized water.
To leeward, you are initially greeted by the bright, spacious and, due to the dark wood paneling, cozy saloon. On the port side is the functional kitchen with pressurized water, stove and a large cool box. On the starboard side is the navigation table with seating and the switch panel with the electrical cabinet. This is also where you turn on the Webasto diesel heater for the cool spring/autumn days.
Both the cabin in the bow and the port side aft are also spacious and bright, again with the cozy glow of the wood paneling as a mood-setting parameter.
On the starboard side aft is a large, bright toilet, also with pressurized water and holding tank.
I look forward to showing you "Hera" and please contact me for further information.
